Services & Fees
Dr Sarah sees children from birth until their 18th birthday.
Dr Sarah offers the following services:
– Assessment and management of food allergy (including food allergy in breast or formula fed infants who have not yet started solids)
– Assessment and management of hay fever (allergic rhinitis) and prescription of individually tailored environmental allergen immunotherapy (eg: dust mite, grass pollen)
– Initial assessment of drug and venom allergies + streamlined referral to the public hospital Immunology clinic for further investigation or treatment if necessary
– Management of difficult to control eczema
– Management of recurrent hives (urticaria)
– Clinically indicated and targeted allergy testing (including skin prick testing or blood testing)
Fees:
Far North Allergy is a private fee-paying service. A private fee structure allows Dr Sarah to provide extended appointments ensuring you have enough time to discuss your child’s medical history, allergic symptoms and unique care needs. It also allows adequate time for Dr Sarah to clearly explain your child’s diagnosis, provide appropriate education and answer any of your questions. Medicare rebates are available for both consultations and skin prick testing.
Initial/New patient consultations (60 mins):
$465 (rebate – $125.10, gap fee – $339.90)
In person review consultations (30-60 mins):
$200-$400 (rebate – $84.90-$202.65, gap – $115.10-$197.35)
Phone review consultations:
Fee and Medicare rebate will vary depending on several factors. Please call our team to discuss further.
Skin prick testing:
Food OR environmental allergens: $95 (rebate – $38.60, gap – $56.40)
Food AND environmental allergens: $165 (rebate – $77.20, gap – $87.80)
Immunotherapy review/reordering:
Fee and Medicare rebate will vary depending on several factors (face to face, phone
etc) – gap fee fixed at $56.10
*Medicare stipulates that a patient must have an existing face to face clinical relationship with the specific doctor, or have seen another doctor at the same practice, in the last 12 months, to be eligible for a Medicare rebate on telehealth/phone consultations. Non-Medicare eligible immunotherapy reviews will be charged at $100 as a private fee.
